Scope of Translation
The plan to translate PCDairy program in
Spanish has two phases: In Phase One, we only
translate the help files, nutrient names, feed
names, license file, manual, readme, and order
form. In Phase Two, we translate all dialog
boxes. The released Spanish version is in Phase
One and everyone who buy this version will get a
free update to Phase Two, when it will become
available.
Phase One Files
Help Files
There are 16 help files with the hlp
extension. These are simple text files which can
be edited by the Notepad program. If you use the
Microsoft Word, you must save them in the plain
text format. They can not have any formatting
features such as bold or underline etc. The
length of each line in the help file must be 74
characters or less. Use Courier New font of size
10.
Nutrient Names
The nutrient names are in the file
NUTRIENT.HLP. The maximum length of a
nutrient is 20 characters. The maximum name of
user defined nutrients NUT1, BUT2, etc is 12
characters
Feed Names
There are 102 feeds in the standard feed
library. The maximum length of feed name is 20
characters. The easiest way to translate the
name of feeds is to export them from the
standard library to the alternate library and
then edit its name.
License File
The license.rtf is not a text file and must
be edited by the Microsoft Word, but must be
saved as “rtf” file.

must be edited by the Microsoft Word.

Both these files are simple text files and must
